The Student-Athlete Experience

Student-athletes have long been at the forefront of educational institutions as exemplary individuals who bring pride to the school and its community, and there is an immense amount of pain that goes unheard and unseen.

Being a student-athlete comes with great pride, and great responsibility. Sports have proven benefits to overall health, and there are distinct challenges that can come with competing at this level. Student-athletes hold a unique set of both internal and external expectations due to their roles as both student and athlete (not to mention other roles they might play in their life). The stress associated with balancing these roles is common, and often leads to mental health issues, burnout, or letting go of quality performance in one of their roles.

Because of the intense focus on mental toughness within the sports community, student-athletes are not offered the amount of psychological or emotional support they deserve. This website is an effort to address this issue and provide student-athletes with easy-to-access resources. Explore the content on this website to discover the support you might need.
